Part 1 of Frequently Asked Questions From the Home Show

Thank you to all who came by the Wallmark Homes booth this weekend.  It was great hearing from you and answering any questions that you had.  For those of you that weren't able to make it out, here are some of the more frequently asked questions and their answers.

When is a good time to start thinking about building?

Now is a great time to start the planning stage for building your new home. The planning and design period will take approximately 3-4 months to complete. This means that if you start now then you will be ready to start the construction stage once the weather warms up - come spring.

After the design stage then how long will the construction take?

Once we have finished working with you designing your brand new home, we begin the construction phase of building your new custom home.  The construction phase can vary depending on the size of the home and the intricacies of the design. A typical home 3000 sq ft can take anywhere from 6 - 8 months,  this  includes even the time for the demolition of the old home.  This means from start to finish you could be enjoying your brand new home in less than a year.

What happens if I don’t have a lot yet?

If you haven’t found your ideal lot don’t worry because we are always here to help.  Once you have decided on an area that you would like to start building your home just let us know and we can help find the perfect lot for you.

I have found my lot but how can I find out what I can build on it?

Once you have found your perfect lot let us know and we can have one of our experienced Real Estate professionals come out and meet you.  Once there they will give you their expert opinion on your new lot, which will include the size of house you should be able to build among other very valuable information.

This is only part 1 of the frequently asked questions from the Vancouver Home and Design Show.  Part 2 will be up shortly, but if you simply can’t wait please contact us right away and speak to one of our experts immediately.
