Green Homes
“It ain’t easy being green.” The song title says it all and while being green isn’t the easy route to take in home building, Wallmark Homes has become a dedicated green builder because we care about the long term impact the homes and communities we create have on the environment. More than just a trend or a flashy marketing tactic, being green is a serious commitment. By creating homes that are energy efficient and utilizing materials, designs and specifications in the process that help reduce impact on the environment, we are building toward a better, healthier and more sustainable future for all with every Wallmark Home. One of the benefits of our Green Promise is the significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and electricity cost savings up to 25% which is something both you and your budget can feel good about. Wallmark Homes is recognized as a certified Built Green™ homebuilder and two of our most recent projects, Birchwood Estates and the recently completed Morgan Heights have been built with Built Green technology and standards as set by the Canadian Home Builder’s Association of British Columbia (CHBABC).
What does Built Green mean?
Built Green™ is a program that is managed by the Canadian Home Builder’s Association of British Columbia to promote sustainable or green new home building practices. The goal is to create buildings that are healthier for the environment as well as the occupants by ensuring they conform to set standards that preserve natural resources, lower utility costs, reduce environmental impact and discourage waste of energy and resources. Builders must meet strict requirements and participate in educational programs in order to receive the Built Green™ certification.
Benefits to Building Green.
